With just 25 delivery stops, the number of possible sequences is 25 factorial, or more than 15 septillion combinations. Now multiply that problem across an entire logistics network. The quantum technology market itself could reach $60 billion to $100 billion by then, with quantum computing accounting for $43 billion to $71 billion. Commercial adoption is already beginning, with quantum computing companies generating more than $1 billion in global revenue in 2025. Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) is another important growth area, allowing businesses to access quantum processors through cloud platforms instead of owning expensive hardware. Financial services, pharmaceuticals, and cybersecurity are among the industries exploring applications such as portfolio optimization, molecular simulation, drug discovery, risk analysis, and quantum-resistant security. Investment is also accelerating, with quantum technology startups attracting $12.6 billion in funding during 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the quantum computing opportunity extends far beyond companies developing quantum processors. The industry needs an entire infrastructure ecosystem to manufacture, control, cool, connect, test, and secure quantum systems. Cisco is developing quantum networking technologies, while Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet provide the cloud infrastructure needed for hybrid quantum-classical computing. Semiconductor manufacturers such as GlobalFoundries and STMicroelectronics are working on manufacturing technologies relevant to quantum devices. Meanwhile, Intel is developing cryogenic control technology, and FormFactor is working on systems designed to accelerate quantum-device testing. Cybersecurity is another emerging opportunity as organizations prepare for the possibility that current encryption methods could become vulnerable to future quantum computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the processor level, investors have several different ways to gain exposure. IBM has built a large quantum ecosystem around its Quantum platform and Qiskit, while Google is investing heavily in quantum research through Google Quantum AI. IonQ offers more concentrated public-market exposure to quantum computing, although that also brings greater valuation and execution risk. Privately held Quantinuum has reported strong technical performance but does not provide the same direct public-market access. Microsoft combines a major cloud distribution network with its own hardware research, including its topological-qubit programme. The key point for investors is that qubit counts alone do not determine which company will ultimately win. Funding strength, technical progress, cloud distribution, acquisition strategy, scalability, and the ability to convert research into recurring revenue may prove far more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For investors who do not want to build and rebalance a basket of quantum-related companies independently, the script also highlights passive, rules-based approaches such as the GREAT Quantum Computing Portfolio. The portfolio holds 17 listed equities and provides exposure across the broader quantum ecosystem rather than relying on a single processor manufacturer. However, diversification within an emerging theme does not eliminate concentration, valuation, market-cycle, or commercialization risks. Quantum computing remains an early-stage industry, and most practical applications are still expected to combine quantum systems with conventional computing. Between 2025 and 2030, the most important question for investors may therefore be whether companies can demonstrate measurable technical progress, scalable economics, and real commercial adoption\u2014not simply announce increasingly ambitious qubit targets.
